Gutted

Recommended Posts

Last year due to new commitments I decided to give four of my ferrets away to a lad off here, which left me with 3 ferrets. A 6 year old jill and her two daughters which were 4 years old. The mother and one of the daughters work excellent. Very tame and good around the nets. Best jills I have ever had. The other jill I only got in January 2013 off a friend which had to move away. This ferret was injured when she was young and does not work.

Last week I noticed the mother ferret which is now 7 began to lose weight and her fur was looking thinner. After a really close inspection I noticed that the ferrets had fleas. I was a bit confused how as I always use Bob Martin spot on and clean the hutch on a weekly basis. I treated the ferrets with spot on and the next day the old jill was dead. I was gutted as she was a lovely ferret, she was good around the nets and she was one of my first ever kits. I now only have one working ferret.

Three days ago I cleaned the ferrets out again and noticed that my two still have fleas. I went to the local pet shop and explained the whole situation and she said that I am not the first to say Bob Martin spot on has been ineffective and she said in the past she has had reports of it burning the animals skin, therefore I would recommend people to keep away from Bob Martin spot on as it seems to cause more harm than good.

I have retreated the ferrets with a recommended spot on and the fleas seem to be dying and one ferret is completely clear. As soon as the fleas are gone I will be looking for a new jill to join my pack, so if anyone in the Northumberland has kits please drop me a pm. It is fair to say I will not be using Bob Martin spot on again.

Bob Martins is a load of shit! It's typical of what super markets sell. People food shopping just chuck it in the trolley.

I would always go for best of the best from a vets or offline.

Shame your lovely little ferret had to die to find out mate.
