longnetting

seems to me that there is a misconception about longnetting as in people think its a dying sprort so i thought i'd test the water in here with a poll

i use them mostly when ferreting but will be using them at night more this season

Hi Ricky I use them for ferreting and at night, when ferreting if its a big set its easyer than setting loads of purse nets more so now I have a quickset

ricky I own a animal feed shop and we stock a lot of work dog and ferreting stuff, since we got the quick set longnets in a lot of young lads are showing a lot of intrest

we have a strech of grass behind the shop and we can give them a quick demmo, and Im looking at doing a short DVD for them to take with them free

I use my quickset system for both night and day,hoping to be doin alot more at night this year, no of a few nice spots

so it seems although people arnt using the longnets in the traditional way as much they do use them for ferreting and this "quickset" net has kickstarted the younger generation ???

not voting because over here the only folks using nets are government agencies. but having discovered this site i will be lurking, it seems a right sharp way of catch a fair bit of game to fill the freezer. two questions can you set nets for game other than rabbit and which threads have good pictures of set nets?
