Lee C 55
Hi all hope the moult is going well? Well Vlad has had another one this morning. Wife said she could not see him this morning and felt something was wrong so went to check and then can the shout your bird your bird, Having just had two back ops it's the quickest I have managed to move for a long time. He was on the floor curled up in a ball with not head in sight but moving, Gulp!! Now he has just started to moult and was about to start dropping everything. Some how with one tail feather dropped but still attached with tail mount.( Plectrum mounted with leather strips, glue, cable ties.) he managed to get his beak wedged in, not sure exactly how or where as was first thing I did was free the beak from in amongst his tail feather. Have now clipped tail mount from lose feather and bird. His head also had to be cault from the side of his wing injury so he was laying on the area where one of his feather tends to stay in blood through the moult. So have had a clean of the area and a good spray of iodine vet spray. Now have neon blue PJs. Whalst all this was going on grabbing him cutting tail mount spraying with iodine my best little mate did not foot me once in all the commotion . Note to self 1001 next year remove tail mount before moult. Problem solved !! We are alway learning !! All the best Lee Quote Link to post
