Sirius 1,391
I feed mackerel raw and whole, usually with their guts out. Same with sprats when they come in on masse, great big silver tide mark of free dog grub. Edited May 23, 2014 by Sirius

3 Turns 326
ALRIGHT MATE. I GIVE THE DUGS OILY FISH EVERYDAY IF I CAN .GOOD FOR THEM.
Gaz_1989 9,539
Mine get mackeral fillets in tomatoe sauce or sunflower oil once a week and whole (gutted) trout once a week with heads and all. That is prime tucker Gaz,.. My wee cur pup loves Tuna in Sunflower oil... You aren't wrong mate. Mine both love the fish in oil. They devour 2 x Tins a piece. But at £1 a tin it can get pricey. They are worth it though and I believe it's a major contributor to keeping the coats nice and glossy.

Ferrets love a mack or two as well Cheers, D. Do you feed whole to dogs ? Gutted and in pieces if large, whole if small. Cheers, D.

rabbit demon 302
Put the mackerel in the freezer overnight. Let it thaw out. Gut it, head off and pull the spine out. Comes out easy, give it to the dogs raw, no bones. He loves it.
