Fiocchi .22 Rimfire Ammo / Any Good

Recommended Posts

Hi all :bye:

For the last few years I have always used the Winchester Super X .22 rimfire ammo. However, since the ammo has changed from the old blue box's to the new black box's, I have started to get quite a few misfires while out in the field. Apparantly other shooters have also noticed the difference in the Quality of different batches of ammo.

I am now interested in trying the Fiocchi .22 subsonic hunting ammo in my CZ Varmint as I have heard from other shooters that it suits their barrels very well.

If anybody has tried the Fiocchi ammo in their rifles, especially you CZ shooters, any feedback both good or bad will be greatly appreciated, as my local gun shop has only just started to supply the stuff and I am quite keen to fire off a few rounds and test the accuracy.

Atb,

I have some Fiocchi subs for my 10/22 and found them a little more noisy than other brands I've tried but the accuracy is still there. I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase them again but happy enough to use the three and a half boxes I have left.

As they wouldn't break the bank I'd say a box or two would be worth a try to compare against your regular ammo.

I've used them, and they were fairly good in my anschutz. Cheap as well. I'd say that for me, they were as good as the winchesters in the blue box. I haven't tried the ones in the new black boxes yet but a new offering is on the way from winchester, called 42max. I'll be giving them a try when they arrive.

Just an update lads

I bought a few box's of Fiocchi .22 subsonic ammo last week and fired off a couple of box's out in the field at the weekend.

Basically, I found the accuracy was very good with no misfires from about 100 rounds fired. However, I too found the Fiocchi ammo very loud compared to the Winchester Subs. A few of the rounds sounded more like supersonic rather than subsonic, and all the rounds fired were noisier than the Winchester Subs. Maybe I just bought a bad batch, but it doesn't say a lot for Fiocchi's quality control department

Personally, I don't think that I'll be buying any more Fiocchi based on my results and will stick with the Winnie subs for now,

If you get a few misfires I would normally asume your using a semiauto but as previously said by others Winchester and eley are the ones I stick to due to most semiautos being choosy with the brand you put through it.

I dont think you'll find one which is quieter and has lest of chance of a misfire, loading or extraction jam than these..maybe in one category but not all.
