Bosun11 537
Dunno about the smallest but the biggest i've ever seen were bred by a local bloke who put a dog called Warlock over a Deerhound. The smallest in the litter was over "30 and all of 'em had substance aplenty... In short, massive! One was put back to a coursing dog and produced a dog called Jack that at over "30 distinguished its self in most major coursing competitions of the day and was certainly always the talking point... strongbow1 257
Little dog on left is tiny, not my dog my sisters but often take her out, she works like a terrier, gets in the thickest cover, not my cup of tea, but catches her fair share of bunnies 5 Quote Link to post
inan 841
Got thinking today that I've not seen a lamping dog as small as my 16" mongrel. Wondering what's the smallest and largest running dogs that people have ever seen work. Get some pics and stories up people cheers Biggest I've seen was a bull x owned by the Goulding brothers think it was called Jack it must have scaled near on100lbs.Ran very impressively as I recall..Bigliks would remember it. 1 Quote Link to post
crorider 174
To be fair he never said what species. Most of them chinks are no quicker than a rabbit and they go down like a sack of shite. Wouldn't take a particularly good small dog to knock them over on a regular. Still, wouldn't be worthy of the description "good on deer" if all it took was one species. Quote Link to post
