Think the we beddy crosses suit me better just small dogs i prefer he was a powerfull big dog the collie cross 28tts dont see the need for bigger dogs now with the ban . The place ive hunted mostly for a good 20 odd years is very steep and full of gulleys and the smaller dog suits it more with the better agility hence the small whippety cross that i prefer now also never had a injury in ll the years ive had beddy cross maybe its just luck but they can take alot simaler to the collie crosses. Also had a small collie x which was a great we ferreting dog but decided to make its own mind up and started to refuse runs and false mark

I don't think in all the years I've been interested in lurchers, that anybody has slagged off this cross. The half cross can be very variable, as I know to my cost, but the 1/4 collie cross seems a good bet. Lots of folk will say it's the best cross they've ever had. I had one in the seventies and it was definitely my best dog. Maybe a bit prone to injury? Maybe all that grey blood can make them too keen and fast for their own good?

Being out with the dog every day builds a strong bond, i know i,v done it, in fact iam doing now with my 3/4 whippet 1/4 beddy. I,v had a 3/4 GH 1/4 collie too, alot of years ago when my main quarry was Hares, it would have made a great allrounder if with someone else but it lacked abit as an out n out Hare dog if iam honest with myself, it didnt make the height i thought it would, i think i made a bad choice, it followed a 3/4 GH 1/4 DH which was my best Hare dog by far, so was on a hideing to nowt, buster.

Here's mine as iv said abit on heavy side for a 1/4. Thinking of a half cross as mines slowing down due to a reacuring injury http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s419/tomas172/?action=view&current=waitingforbolt_zps1b4bcd1d.jpg http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s419/tomas172/?action=view&current=photo_zps4923ff97.jpghe is sulky at times. Thinking getting a half cross breadi or border/beardy mix
