krawnden 1,036
I was idly browsing past topics and read a thread about purse net pegs in which quite a few people extolled the virtues of plastic tent pegs. If you use them can you tell me - are they strong enough to push into hard ground? Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
If you get the right ones, very much so. Also they have a handy hook on them for hooking into the draw cord when you wrap them up!/ Quote Link to post
Dengil 27
I used to use them on most of my nets but used good quality ones. At the end of the day they're designed to hold tents down in all weathers so a purse net is no problem. Quote Link to post

dogmad riley 1,344
Use the same as Johnny boy never had any problems Quote Link to post
talt 878
We use the same ones and never had any problems, and they are a lot lighter than the metal ones we used to use. We also use rubber bands made from an old bike inner tube to pack them away, much stronger than laggy bands that dont last two seconds. Quote Link to post

krawnden 1,036
Thanks everyone - I've ordered 40 off fleabay and will give them a go. Quote Link to post
pie-eater 377
I use the same as above they work well. I snapped the tip off a couple trying to stick them into rock hard ground during the big freeze but any pegs would have broken under that pressure. Quote Link to post
hideandshoot 13
I cut some hazel sticks over the winter to make in to pegs this summer, but I don't think I'll bother now. Thanks guys. Quote Link to post

Thanks guys. you can cut hazel sticks any time the year mate just pop them into a microwave and it dries them out tidy. i use to make them into pegs first then dry them out. Quote Link to post
hideandshoot 13
Interesting advice Trigger. Thanks. I've decided I prefer the feel and look of wood to plastic, so I'll perceiver with the hazel afterall. Anyway, I like messing about with bits of wood. Quote Link to post
