logan esq 99
Just got myself one. In .177.First Springer I've had so nothing to compare it with. I've watched a few video's on YouTube about this rifle and there seems to be little or no recoil form there rifle but mine has a decent kick to it. Also there's seems quieter too. Is this because mine is straight out of the box and needs bedding in or is there something wrong with. Mac I know you have just got one which pretty much came out the box too, is yours the same? Any help would be great. ATB Quote Link to post
Cedric 132
My HW99S was a bit 'twangy' out of the box, a good polish of the spring and piston plus any other bits I could see reduced it by about 50%. Might be a good idea to check out the amount of factory grease inside and replace it with a good quality moly or teflon grease. With the Youtube vids - the guys may have spent a couple of hundred quid in getting them 'tuned'! Springers are a totally different ball game to pcp's, I shot my first pcp yesterday - vastly different from my HW, if it's better remains to be seen. Quote Link to post
risingfriend 1,042
There is a bedding in process from new usually after a couple of tins or so, but a lot of the rifles on youtube have been tuned by a gunsmith like tony wall of sandwell fieldsports or dave hall to name a couple , or they benefit from a home tune or fettle with a drop n kit like vmach etc. check out geordiehunters tv on youtube Darryl Marksman on here has a couple of good vids on his process and i can say have shot one of Darryls fettled rifle and they are smooth as i have had my 97 stage 2 tuned from sandwell and around £140 transforms the rifle. It depend of the ammount you wish to spend etc. 2 Quote Link to post
silentshot1 206
TBH I doubt there is anything wrong with your Pro Sport, they have an excellent reputation and I would love one, but being a lefty stops me! Compared to a PCP, all springers will feel like they are loud and with a kick. Most of the noise will be because the firing action from the piston will resonate through the stock to your ear, stand 25 meters from it and there's little difference. My S10 and HW 97 are about the same, noise wise. Enjoy putting 500 pellets through it and see how it feels after being run in bit. It should be fine! Quote Link to post
andy97 209
a quick strip polish and re grease will do the job mate i did this on a 97kt n shot like a dream afterwards Quote Link to post
logan esq 99
Thanks for the info guys. I took it back to the shop they shot mine side by side another and they were the same. So I'm just gonna "bed it in" so to speak. The only thing is I've messed around with the trigger to try and make have a bit more "snap" and have resulted in killing it. Can't seem to get it right or even back to what it was. ATB Quote Link to post
sharpshooter25 7
Having the same problem with my pro sport and TX200, there are both "Bedded in" and both still twang. i think Air Arms standards are slipping, I have owned TX200 HC before around three years ago and I don't remember it been that nosiey Quote Link to post
