scothunter 12,609
We all got told that I think lol Remember speaking to an old boy, who's father had worked on it it his grandfather. Can't remember. Anyway he said there is a horse and wagon in one of the piles. Fell in and the couldn't get it out. I used to go the hawes for a meal . There a wee graveyard to those who died building it. Aye I'm proud of that big f***ing bridge
Malt 379
Fantastic piece of engineering, years ahead of its time. I went out my way on the way up to Aberdeen just to see it once, I wasn't disappointed. Fair play to your sister Ross!

Aye, makes me feel like I've got to do something for the charity now, see the wee old lady on her jumper is my granny who suffers and it's horrible to watch, someone dying inside right before your eyes. Just what to do, thinking about the Glasgow to edinburgh cycle, but only leaves me 4 months to train which isn't that long really.....

Just what to do, thinking about the Glasgow to edinburgh cycle, but only leaves me 4 months to train which isn't that long really..... Aye it's horrible mate.. My nan's street was an old fashioned type of street where all the old folk were mostly all friends of the family and the closest were called auntie or uncle. My nan's distant cousin lived across the street, used to call her auntie Nene cause her name was Irene. Knew her all my life and she suffered with it as she got older, was horrible seeing the poor old lady wondering round getting lost within about 20 yards of her own doorstep. Sometimes she'd remember you, other times she couldn't even remember her own kids. Another one was uncle Herbie a few doors up, he suffered from it as well. Only died last year. Tragic condtion to endure for the sufferer and those close to them, one of the worst I reckon.. Good luck with whatever you decide to do to raise funds.
