buster gonads 862
I used to work a Beddy X black n tan alot of years ago, he was a great dog but abit hard, would push through any cover but his main job was trying to keep up with my hare dog lol, caught a few that the big un turned in his direction, he worked for nearly 13 years. fat man 4,741
My diging mate had 1 some years back, brilliant dog in cover and also a good dog below ground, was hunted with a mixed pack of harrier hounds belonging to his uncle and in heavy cover he was very good, many the time when hounds would run a fox to ground he would be right with them and have him bolted in no time. Brick top 6
Ye they look like they work cover well and fast too, I had a good jack Russell could get in some thick cover but not as fast as the bedlingtons. Quote Link to post
marshman 7,758
Lads not being snide but I can't see the point what are you hoping to improve with the cross that the individual straight Beddy or a fell can't do ? Quote Link to post
morton 5,368
Easy Marshman, breed the best grafter to grafter to obtain the youngster that will best suit the individual hunting lifestyle,in my case i wanted a litter out of my Fell bitch,i know of several dogs that would have been useful to cover her with, the dog best suited to my hunting requirements was a Beddy, thus the Beddy/Fell combo. 1 Quote Link to post

morton 5,368
The versatility of the Bedlington is its main attribute, the best bushing/bolting dog ive seen at work was a Bedlington,Fell/Lakey,s are a useful mutt, they lack the athleticism of the Beddy and its more laid back nature,at times. The Bedlington infusion makes for a more versatile terrier,i run Bedlingtons and Fells as a pack, each as its merits over the other, the combination of both taps into the desirable traits in each.Ive a couple of dogs here Beddy/Fells,at 11 months old they are looking more promising than anything ive had before, the coming season will push them towards their potential, hopefully. 2 Quote Link to post
