clipo 871
asbestos removal gotta be the worst job ive done! paid ok but ive been in some shitholes stripping out, skanky boiler rooms flooded up to ya knees in skanky stinky crap that needs every little bit putting into little bags n sealing up and taking out, we stripped an animal testing laboratoty in cheshire one time, it wasnt as dirty or anything but when you saw monkey x42 written on cages and the dog kennels etc you know some gruesome shit had been happening here once, mind you we got a good wiegh in outta that job lol, the transit van was doing wheelies when we driven it outta that place, bioler room full of 3 core thick as your arm lol, This is what you had to do every day before you started work, quick butty brew n a smoke, then theres 3 stages you have to go through in the decontamination unit(them trailers you see getting towed by asbestos vans),1st stage get changed into ya red paper overalls, mask/filter checked then on,then a white bioler suit above the red, then then you walk through the shower area (stage 2) into the dirty end (stage 3) where you put your transit wellies on( for walking to area ) along a designated route into a 3 stage tent , 1st stage take off ya white suit and transit wellies then into 2nd stage this contains a vac/bucket of water, through to 3rd stage wich you then put on ya graftin wellies/boots n went to work just with a paper suit on, demolition to put a word to it, you stayed in there until dinner no smoke no drink nothing obviously because you had a mask on and more than likely asbestos floating about in the air, then back out of the area through the 3 stage tent, but reversed, dirty red overalls off, so now your naked apart from some paper boxers you get and in winter boy is it cold especially when you been wet stripping and your soaked to the bone, quick vac off, ya, filter mask hair body etc, into the 1st stage then where you put ya white overalls n transit wellies back on, walk back to the trailer unit take ya overalls, wellies off, dirty filter out (stage 3), into the shower(stage 2) good wash, your body mask filter, then back into stage 1 where you dry off with large paper towels, your work clothes back on, go for dinner and then go do exactly the same for afternoon shift, ballache or what ! glad im back on the roofs i love it up there sounds like you needed more than a £20 respirator mask from screwfix mate......... seriously tho that sounds a hard job!!! did it pay well??? smithie 2,443
i worked on a pig farm. the job was good except for every second monday when you have to weigh all the big bigs to see whats going to market.. it was so hot in there the job was done wi no top on in winter, come the summer it was murder but a must or we was not getting paid. the farm had 2400 pigs not all big but still plenty to weigh and you had to go to the back of the pen to get the pigs, fighting all the way as they dont like the scales. i was almost on my kness getting to the back as it was so low and above was like a mesanine floor so the farmer could store things on there. the under side would be full of cockroach and berly and timber could be seen in some pens. you could almost garentee my mate would bang the boards from above causing the c**ts to fall on me. red hot work, stinking or shit and cockroach and fighting wi the pigs that did not want to get wighed.. it was a crap job weighing the pigs but it was only 1 day in 10 the other 9 was good

RubyTex 1,957
The majority of my jobs have been rubbish I've been in call centres, factories, catering and they have all been absolute bollocks. My current employment isn't my worst but it's up there. The repetitiveness, bullshit (stupid training modules, 'procedures' etc) and generally taking the whole thing far too seriously does my head in. Some managers walk about thinking they're the dogs bollocks, and business / area managers??? You'd think their shit didn't stink. Arseholes.
