Let Me Explain

Recommended Posts

Now i haven't slated the poor lad who died of cancer and i do think he did well to raise the money he did and i've started this thread so i don't ruin the other one any more and if the mods want to have a sort through it and get rid of what i've said then i don't mind one bit :victory: .What i was trying to say is i think "hero" and other such like words are far to over used these days and as it goes some of you did come back and agree with me that the title he has been given is a little to much  ,i have a brother with terminal cancer so i sure as shite ain't making light of what he had or did and fare play to the lad but i myself see hero's and insperational people differently to most of you it seems and as for helping others i do and have(helped get a couple of folks clean as well blackmaggie  ) and did my donation to craigyboys fund make me a hero?,no it didn't i was just like Stephen and many many others a person who happened to help out others for a good cause and to try to play it for more than it was is wrong imo and with Stephen i think your all wrong in putting him up there with "real life hero's".

So let the insults carry on as like i say "don't give two fcuks" :tongue2: but just thought i'd try to clear the point i was trying to make.

I've got to agree with you....I'd never heard of him till I seen he died on Facebook.

Didn't read much on it but he seemed like a tough young lad that fought a terrible illness. Sounds like he done his bit to raise money for others too so that makes him a real nice guy.

I,m certainly not going to insult people for having an opinion , to which they,re entitled to have , I do wonder though why any one would be bothered to take issue with people calling that young lad a "hero " ,

If you think he,s a hero , then he,s a hero , if he inspires you ,then he,s an inspiration , no harm done .

fireman i commend you for not only beating your own addiction but helping others rid themselves of theres  and by me stating different i hold my hands up with that one  and i agree like i said hero is banded about to much gave footballers and actors has a example but i think that young lad was more worthy than them with the title but the fact the young lad was still trying to raise money in his final days i found that inspirational some found it heroic because you opinion is different from mine or others doesnt make it right or wrong but the money he helped raise helps any youngsters and there family to come to terms with cancer then im sure his selfless effort wont be in vain

he made the best of a bad situation, does that make him a hero, to me no but it sure does show he was a brave caring soul who put others before himself, the world would be a far better place if this was the norm instead of a rarity, just think what could be achieved in a short space of time..............................

One person called him a hero and you made a bit of a fuss about it?? Saying things like sure he raised a few quid, think you'll find it was more than a few quid! Also you said he done nothing before his illness, how do you know?? So fecking negative man!!

like said on the other post, for a young person to know he only here for a short while, and to try to raise money to help to fight this feckin thing is 100% inspirational person . hope to fook I can face my death like he did, he got lot of bottle and the last days of his life must have bee in pain.I know this becase my father died of stomach cancer , and the last 3 weeks of his life he was in lot of pain, we never got on on but he was brave just like this young lad was . you have to dig deep in to your self to handle your fate+pain, but my dad had good innings 85 , it was only the last year of his life he went down. But for a young person to be told you not going to make 25, it takes some balls to do what he did, to try to help others as well with raising money he deff Hero in my book.Dont forget people who join the forces and put there lives on the line, do so through choice , this you lad had no choise in the matter fact :yes:
