Leeview 791
ive got a slip lead that was presented to one of the slippers solid silver couplings. date on it is 1869..offer me the right money its yours it in a1 condition got to be worth at least a grand snoop......... you wont be along way off there mate.. aol343434.jpg aol3535353.jpg aol36363636.jpg the slips are in very good condition, but they are Irish pattern slips not English. the Irish slips have a pin that holds the collars the English on the other hand have what can be best described as a tapered spur that sits on the opposing collars spur, the finer the spurs the better they were for slipping the dogs level. The spurs fitted inside "arms" on each side of the leash Y.I.S Leeview

gonetoearth 5,144
The other weekend I bought a book about old Liverpool, the book is called Greetings From Olde Liverpool, published in 1992 and contains old postcard images of the city, as I'm fascinated by all things old Liverpool and districts. There is one postcard looking up Bold St in 1895 showing the Lyceum. I quote, 'The spot the picture was taken from was/is Waterloo Square, which was named after the Waterloo Hotel which once stood where Central Station once was. The Waterloo Cup got it's name from this Hotel.' I have no idea if this is true or not but did find it interesting that the Cup was mentioned. The books an interesting read too. If you know it to be true GTE and if the book is of any interest to you, as a collector, your more than welcome to it. . Yes they named it the waterloo. As. They held the. Brigzy 1,298
I was at the last Cup, and asked if I could have two cards each day, one to mark, and one to keep in pristine condition. I was going to put them in frames on the lounge wall, but the missus put the block on that !! So, I have all three days programmes in mint condition, and next year will be the 10th anaversiary of the Waterloo Cup, so any idea what they may sell for, not that I'd part with them.
