Washing the dogs to much will take the natural oils out of their coats which means they have less protection against the elements .... Dry them as best you can and as long as they go in a draught free

is it a kennel dog? shouldnt be a problem as long as its dry before locking it away for the night, mine gets a good rub down with a dry towel after we been out n thats it, dog should clean itself pal,

You keep on shampooing your mutts gay boy.

I can't remember ever using shampo on a dog,,, they get hosed off sometimes if there real dirty,,, and feet washed out,, I after daytime running on the seed,,,

An old bitch of mine was a c**t for rolling in badger shit,,,,,every fecking walk,,,, but I never used shampo on her,,hosed it off best,,,,,,but my dogs never come in the house

i wash the feet 95 percent of the time,,in warm water,,,so hit melts the soil, a round the nail bed,,,, has for bathing a dog , only after a hard nite,,,and hit not just to get the crap of them,,,,a good soak makes them feel 100 percent, better in them selfs,,,and then left to dry streched out in infront of the fire,,,,

Ok ok, I'm only pulling your pisser mate, but in all honesty shampooing your dog is NOT good for them, no matter how it makes you feel.

If your worried about how they smell put some nice smellys out of Boots or something, but DON'T wash their vital self cleaning oils off of their skin/fur.

I go with what I said before, change their bedding regular, run them through some dewy grass, take them out in the rain, or let them have a little dip in your local waters, it will keep them clean and healthy.

If you wanna spoil ya mutts, just give em a kiss and a cuddle .

Apart from soaking their feet sometimes, and washing obvious dirt, shit or blood off them . . . no.

But r.e. the smell thing - I've got dogs in both kennels and the house, and they get no different washing treatment, and the ones in the house smell better than those in the kennels. . . or do they? Maybe we just get used to their smell?

Out of all of them, the hound is the most smelly, and the whippet the least. . . . and they are the most an least hairy, so that's probably the answer.

It's all ok though, because I smell of dog, so I never notice.
