jcm 2,327
Nice dog mate and [bANNED TEXT] u say a little tw*t would he not enter cover or just not very obidient? Atb mate Never had a problem with him not entering cover more obedience and just used to permanently hassle the runner but now he is out of that stage and a pleasure to own his recall is spot on most the time and he has dropped in once or twice but has been called out luckly for me as a don't carry locator or spade Quote Link to post
fairy10 12
Any tips on helping a pup learn to enter cover/hunt jcm? Quote Link to post
jcm 2,327
I just ran him thro with my lurche that used to hunt cover well but now I have the terrier he has learnt to stand at the side lines and reap the rewards. I'd try and bring a pup in with another terrier but also take the pup out by its self abd try take it to a small patch that's hokds a few rabbits and it should click on time but remember pups mature diffrents so be patient Quote Link to post
day and night walker 235
My Lakeland "dax" was a little tw*t until he was bout a year old then he has come into his own and puts plenty I from of the runners and catches plenty him selfimage.jpgimage.jpgThat's a lovely dog jcm my kind of terrier. My terrier was a right pain when she was younger, she was no trouble when it came to entering cover in fact it was usually harder to get her out of cover, at one point i thought she might have been deaf coz her recalll was naff but glad to say that she's okay now... well most of the time anyway. atb daywalker.
