let'sshoot 11
Just wondering if you folks go out when it's windy? How windy is too windy? I've got a hmr that only comes out when it's completely still, but I als have a .223 and I can't decide when it's too windy. When long blades of grass sway in the breeze, is that ok? Thanks Edited May 9, 2014 by let'sshoot Quote Link to post
irishnut 297
You don't have to shoot across the wind. Shooting into the wind or in same direction won't effect the bullet. Pick your shots. Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
A .223 has a decent Ballistic Coefficient to buck the wind to a degree at sensible distances i.e. when it has the majority of it's energy retained. You can shoot when it's very windy but like Irish said, you have to choose what direction to shoot, which is either into or with the direction of the wind. A HMR is very light but will still shoot into and with the wind, across it on a very windy day and you'd be struggling. Quote Link to post
