keepdiggin 9,561
I'd like to think good intentions but in this day and age i'm not so sure.
Born Hunter 17,775
We shouldn't just immediately jump to the assumption it's anything other than a caring old man. Our society is in a shit state where vulnerable kids just get left because adult males are too afraid to intervene and help for fear of being labelled a nonce. Let the police make their judgements, public judgements just add to that stigma.
socks 32,253
He seemed very quick to grab that child's hand and lead it away ... If he had been walking behind the woman and child he would have seen the kid was hers ... If he had only just turned a corner and seen the child as I said he was very quick to grab the kid and go back in the same direction he came from ... If that was me I would have stood for a few seconds and watched to see if the child was distressed and was anybody with it before taking any kind of action ...........

Sometimes things are blown out of proportion , but don't think in this case
Frann 882
While I agree with not jumping to conclusions I agree with Bird, it doesn't look too good. In this day and age its sad, as BH says, people are quick to call folk a nonce.
Blackbriar 8,569
I think that if you see a 'lost' or distressed child, you have a duty to help. If your intentions are genuine, you have nothing to fear,BUT if you're a man, I think your best bet is to stand still with the child, and wait for either the parent to see you, or to spot police/security and let them take over.
marky b 309
He was too quick to be anything but a abductor IMO
lukey 1,621
Ye can't know for sure but I'd say he was trying to take the kid. Surly you would at least ask the woman with the buggy 3ft in front is this your kid??? He was turning away even before he took the kids hand!
neems 2,406
Either a very senile old man or an abductor imo he shot round he corner too fast,he'd been watching the lad for a bit longer than we can see imo and if he didn't notice the child was with his mother he can't be all there. the centre will have cameras too,so my guess is the police have seen this before deciding to release the footage. The problem is if someones suffering from dementia or something like that they act very strange, wandering around aimlessly etc so it looks a bit strange anyway. TOMO 26,264
I don't think he had good intentions,,,,that child is clearly following that woman with an empty push chair ,,,,I think he's lucky the father wasn't there....
trigger2 3,145
just shows how easy it could be done. if that women had left it another couple of seconds before she looked round to see where her child was it may well have been a different story.
