RemyBolt 420
Has anyone else noticed a lack of rabbits around their area recently? I know it's mating season (as it always is for bunnies) but it seems abnormally quiet to me. Edited May 7, 2014 by RemyBolt Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
I did last year. This year there seems to be a lot more about. And not scabby old ones like last year. Quote Link to post
mattwhite 1,993
Depends where you are i reckon. After the floods this winter a lot of burrows will be empty on lower ground Quote Link to post

mattwhite 1,993
The burrows on one of my permissions are totally empty still and they were the ones that were underwater for weeks over here in jan and feb. The ones on higher ground nearby seem better populated than last year so rather than drowning i think they upped sticks and moved residence. Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,558
Drove the car 77 miles to the Lake District and back again over the bank holiday and i saw just 3 rabbits . Quote Link to post

tilimangro 1,013
Mixys wiped them out very early where I am It whipped through the young runners very quickly Quote Link to post
paulus 26
only pockets left here as the floods did for most of the population, it will take a few years to recover if left alone, Quote Link to post
RemyBolt 420
It sucks, as a farmer has said I can have his place as a permission if I can get him a rabbit for the pot from another permission, to prove I can shoot. I'm just struggling to find many, if any. Quote Link to post
RemyBolt 420
I managed to get a quick chat with a farm owner on the way to work today and asked about if he needed any work for pest control done. He said there were no rabbits at all, but did ask me to leave my number and said to ask him again in a few months time. Quote Link to post
inan 841
Has anyone else noticed a lack of rabbits around their area recently? I know it's mating season (as it always is for bunnies) but it seems abnormally quiet to me. Think its connected with too many being shot in May. Quote Link to post
Pelletpower 203
Last year my perm had mixi quite bad...really bad infact... I'd maybe only get 8-9 each time I went and 4-5 would have it... This year I've not seen one rabbit with it and last week we shot 47 in one session! Quote Link to post
