BIG G wheton machine 1,594
With modern DNA cloning do any of you think it's possible to recreate old game dogs by cloning preserved specimens in London's natural history museum?
dogs-n-natives 1,182
There was a thread about this a while back, apparently it can be done for abbout £60,000. Not for me that carry on DnN
BIG G wheton machine 1,594
Fecking 60 grand. Bloody hell that's expensive, Be great though to have some old proper bulldogs back same as others that's dead n gone
BIG G wheton machine 1,594
Same goes for any dog that achieved god like status that's able to have DNA taken from its bones n teeth. Coursing, pit, earth type etc
Brigzy 1,298
I think Mick The Miller was stuffed and is on display, so, theoretically could be cloned; but would it be worth it ? The present day dogs are probably better. Would Red Rum be worth cloning ? Would he, at his best, beat the modern National horses ? Cloning could be good to resurrect extinct breeds, but I think it is only nostalgia that would lead anyone to recreate old race horses or greyhounds, etc.

BIG G wheton machine 1,594
There's an old bulldog on display in the ulster museum totally different to today's beast, would definitely make an improvement if cloned could produce healthy sperm to reproduce healthier off spring
