Yes they can, and yes they do....

c**ts mob handed killing them... What's wrong with sneaking on,one man one dog quick gallop and away.

Deny eveything admit nothing

Video footage or multiple witnesses really. But they will try it on with alot less.

Lads have regularly got dead hares in the boot with their dogs which have been shot and retrieved. They would need to prove that they hadn't been shot.

I'm in court this friday

if you were coursing hares and they can prove it, then man up your getting done. if there unable to prove it then you will get off, what evidence have they submitted to your solicitor?

The cps like to put the pressure on early and get a guilty plea, it saves time and money. They often lie about evidence which they don't have to scare you to plead guilty. Until you have seen all of the evidence against you plead not guilty. And if they do have enough evidence for a conviction then you can change your plea at the last minuite... Oh and get a solicitor

Under the hunting with dogs act witnesses willing to swear you coursed the hares or video evidence but even then they have to have sufficient evidence that you slipped on the hare deliberately which is very difficult to prove. They rely on admissions and circunstantial evidence that you are in an area that is frequently used for hare coursing and that you have been seen on the land coursing hares. Under the hunting with dogs act The police realise the burden of proof is on them,. thats why they swab dogs.search land and vehicles for carcasses,, basically the apply pressure and try to get a guilty plea by dangling the Trespassing in search of game alternative charge, which unfortunately most lads take as its considered the easy option. You can be on permission and the dog accidently runs a hare but you cannot legally have permission for coursing. so basically get a good solicitor if you can run with it you know if you are bang to rights or not if its debatable Not Guilty and let your solicitor see excactly what they have got in the way of hard evidence. be prepared to spend a bit of cash for a good solicitor who is ready to slug it out with them

The reason I asked.if it was permission is.it could havee chased a rabbit and accidentally put a hare up,failing that was it a footpath and the collar came off the dog.
