Ayup lads!

Got up and chilled for a bit then got the hw100kt .22 ready for a session. wind was about 9 mph according to bbc so not too bad. got to the farm and on the way down the track there was a tree a crow/rook flew out of and caught me by surprise. got down to 'the range' where I zero and got the hw100 bang on and had a good plink. had enough air for my last mag so chilled out playing with my phone for a bit incase anything presented an oppertunity.

10 mins or so passed and about 30 yards infront of me a pigeon flew and landed in the tree infront of me, which got my intrest ;) .. couldn't see it from where I was so I slowly stood up and stalked about 5 yards looking up the tree. no sign of the woody yet but a jay was hopping about presented me with a clean shot. so then it fell without even opening its wings and lay still like a stone. jobs a good 'un

don't usually shoot jays but there were 3 flying about 80 yards away and two in this tree, aswel as the woodpigeon! they all flew off when the jsb smashed into the jays head ;)

then shot a woody at 41 yards but couldn't get it out of the undergrowth. :cray:

called it a day as I hadn't put a drink in my bag and was quite hungry and dehydrated so off home I went.

had some food and drink and pumped up the hw100 and chilled out for a while.

Then I decided to take the 98 and go back down

Walking past the 'crow tree' again it flew off again out of nowhere so upon closer inspection its living in a massive hole half way up the tree. il sit and wait for it one day! :D

Over the gate and started walking toward the wood where the first few trees normally have a few pigeons sat in. seen 2 deer so tried to get a few pics but they were too far for my phone to handle. then seen the farmwer behind me so had a quick hello and then went back to the wood. over the fence and a quiet mooch stalk down the edge, the deer were still about 100 yards away in the field. 55 yards the other way a few pigeons took flight and then one sat there for me to get a shot at. resting on a broken fence I took the shot allowing holdover and dropped the bird. well happy! took me a while to find it but then got a pic and took the breast off and left the rest for Charlie

went to chill near my 'range' and then seen a little owl. it was just chilling in a tree id seen some magpies in the first time I went down with the hw100. tried to get some pics but they didn't turn out well. he was just sat 30 feet above my head and could have shat on me if he wanted to LOL he wasn't bothered by me at all ;)until I started plinking then he went somewhere else for some peace and quiet

Walking back towards home I nearly lost my leg to a massive swamp LOL then sat watching a black and white woodpecker for a bit. seen a squirrel briefly but couldn't get it in my sights unfortunately.

its been a lovely day and I might go back for round 3 tomorrow

pics to follow.

I go through stages with my springers.. one day i think 98 is best then 97 then 98 again... does my head in lol. So cant say which is best lol.

Both amazing ;)

Got the 100 just for hunting anyway its boring shooting targets with a pcp. Unless it was a hft course that might be good. And yeah mines in .22

Haha yes mate I'm going to get both in the end

And your right mate there is just something about a nudge to the shoulder and the sound of a pellet hitting home that no pcp can come close to replacing when it comes to a well made springer ;)
