Lamper DVD

Recommended Posts

Orderd The Lampers Sporting Dogs and watched it the other night. There was a few things in it that shocked me a bit. I know very little about luchers but from reading on here and other forums what are described as "arse biters" are not what you want in a good fox dog. In this DVD there are bits of footage that show foxes being picked up ,shook, dropped and even dragged around by their back end very much alive . I know some people will say that's lurcher work and its not for softies but I just didnt like seeing the fox trying to fend of 2 dogs. I got the feeling that it was due to the fact the dogs were ran in 2 or 3 instead of on their own? As in other DVDs I have seen 1 dog chase its fox, takes hold and its all over quickly .(hope this makes sense  )

i'll agree mate that the dogs are only average maybe even below but i think they were despatched humanely enough although perhaps not quick enough, the dogs seemed to mouth it without much force... i havent seen any lamping dvd where the dogs were run single handed?? i run most of my dogs single handed once they been entered but they certainly miss alot of more foxes than 2 dogs would... not out of lack of gameness! i just think foxes are really slippery when they know whats behind them...
