Hot Meat 3,109
Ruggers you are right some ferrets do pull em out, but they don't mean it, see a rabbit tunnel usually goes only 2 directions, sometimes a ferret will drag a bunny out, but same ferret is just as likely to drag the bunny deeper, just depends what way it's pulling I suppose, I'm not saying you can't train a ferret to cache, I don't know either way. But I'm looking at my ferrets a bit different now as to what I could do with them to keep an ticking over in summer especially Quote Link to post
fitchet 788
Can't see it happening with a ferret, they usually just kill on the spot then either eat it or leave it, can't see em dragging it into a cat carrier for you. Mink are wired different, they have certain hides where they put all their catches for eating later. Different instincts. On the rare occasions my ferrets get dry food they allways hide some before eating in the bedding areas even the odd rabbit and Pigeon get pulled into the bed boxes Quote Link to post

rabbit demon 302
Your right, mine do that too with raw meat, so i read up on them, seemingly wild polecats and ferrets stash for later, I always thought they we're just hiding it from me cause they don't like sharing. Quote Link to post
ruggers13 268
I got told that they hide food so don't leave any in coz it will just rot but mine eat some then stash some look in at night and its gone so i didn't listen Quote Link to post
