GazSBT 8
My mates after a day time dog to run with mine, he's dead set on a dog around 12 months, is this more trouble then it's worth this time of year not being able to see the dog run and risking buying a spoilt one ? Iv seen dogs advertised on other websites supposedly from big name coursing lines with hefty prices all seems a bit dodgy ? Quote Link to post
andy97 209
12month might be alright mate i bought one at 9month turning out to be a very good dog tbh mate be good to get it and spend abit of time with it anyway before season starts n getting it fit dogs will chase regardless mate so aslong as he can get a bond with the dog there shouldnt be any problems and if only for day time shouldnt really be spoilt Quote Link to post
slip lead 862
No many people would sell a yearling that they were happy with or had high hopes of. But your mate might get lucky.. Quote Link to post
wi11ow 2,657
trail a old dog YOUR EYES WONT lie but its summer 1 Quote Link to post
GazSBT 8
It's a risk with no trial, I don't think he's expecting a 8/8 dog but he doesn't want to end up with a donkey either.. Quote Link to post
night warrior 178
Can he afford to lose the money he is paying for the dog if its not off someone he dont no I would never buy a older dog with out seeing it run Quote Link to post
GazSBT 8
Its not just the money, no one wants to be stuck with a shite dog you cant do anything with and it wouldn't be right selling it on unless it was a pet home. Quote Link to post
slip lead 862
It's not just it's running ability you have to worry about when obtaining an adult dog.. Quote Link to post

slip lead 862
I wasn't talking about anyone's dog mate just trying to say the older the dog the more problems its likely to have But there are some genuine people out there, with genuine dogs they have to re home, like shaunPowell by the sounds of it..... Terrier Sam 297
I've only had two experiences with buying older dogs mate but they've both been bad. Both dogs did a good job and I had a trial with both but they both had temperament issues. Wouldn't do it again. No one brings on a pup how you would. Tell him to put the time in and he'll get what he wants for the long run as long as he does it right Atb Sam 1 Quote Link to post
night warrior 178
Why not hold on till season starts up and then get a dog you will pay more money but at least you wont be wasting your money your eyes wont lie to you if it suits you then it can only get better as the season gets on if you put the time in good look in what you decide Quote Link to post
