i am looking at either a second hand canon 70 - 200 @f2.8 and a 1.4 doubler of the equivalent sigma

That's what I use on my Nikon mate, same set up. Sigma lenses are good and fair priced.

second hand sigma are roughly half the price of the second-hand canon

Cannon are the best lenses IMO, better than Nikon etc. but, sigma are very good, mere mortals like us wouldn't notice the difference. I'll try get a photo up I took mate, I'm on my phone, dunno if it's possible but I'll try

Is that true about doves gnasher? If so I never knew that, but them pouter pigeons will fight to death, seen it myself a few times

Im told 2 male doves will fight to the death in flight to determine the best and most dominant breeding male..............while that still cant be compared to the Pit Bull who will do that just for fun.......its still pretty impressive if your an admirer of the trait of gameness.

Pretty interesting fact that.

I'm sure there's other animals that will fight to the death as well though to defend territory's.

I've seen pheasants do it lab.

I think it's quite difficult to judge how much of a fighter certain types of wild animals are.

Ok you look on you tube and see honey badger chasin a lion so it's f****n nail lol

I lion ain't stupid what's the point in trying to tackle a vicious little b*****d when the plains are full of baby antelope ready for the picking?

Plus 90% of predators won't fight till death. They will square up have scuff, then loser gets to f**k of its patch.

Totally agree......gameness would be the absolute worst trait a wild animal could possibly possess........far as im aware only 3 animals in the world have a natural gameness thats the Pit Bull,Rooster and Dove ( yes the symbol of peace )...........wild animals if you leave the gate open they will run away for self preservation..........which is the exact 100% opposite to the meaning of gameness.

It's like not having a childhood getting raised in the city.

I used spend every minute outdoors all day every day fookin about with stuff.

Summer was fishing, nesting and been a pain in arse with slug gun.

Winter was ferret and dogs time.

My misses got raised in London f****n boring childhood never done f**k all

 

 

Moocher not everyone is lucky enough to be raised around countryside it doesnt mean your childhood was any less.......i had a great childhood i think the countryside would of bored me silly back then.......we dont all grow and mature at the same rate i love learning about the countryside now but it wouldnt of interested me as a child growing up on the estates...................same as a kid growing up on a farm wouldnt be interested in inner city hustling ..............each and every person is a product of their environment but that doesnt stop us having a look around us at different things as we get older.

It's like not having a childhood getting raised in the city.

I used spend every minute outdoors all day every day fookin about with stuff.

The only thing about guys like me is I take it all for granted.

Running about the woods all winter as 10 year old with couple ferrets, dogs and nets you learned to make yer self fae the auld boy down the road from the hemp yer dad got you from his work.

Gathering up the pack of dogs and slug guns for the hunt every day.

Unless you had the choice to do stuff like that as a young kid you have missed out

Yep i cant argue with that...............i would of argued it before i was at an age i can appreciate life in the country................but i still dont think i missed out as inner city life gave me a desire to become self made with a " better yourself to prove yourself " attitude that im not sure country folk are as hungry for......for obvious reasons.

 

Still it probably explains my curious desire to run round the countryside like a 10 year old now
