walshie 2,804
My sister in law moved to California 25 years ago. She said the way of life is better there, but the quality of life is better here. I kind of understand what she means. Still there 25 years later though mate. She loves it. Says she won't move back because of the weather. Can't say i blame her. Long story mate. When she turns 16 I'm selling the house, ex getting half, sort the daughter etc, its a f**k up of a situation. The daughter used to stay with me at weekends but cos she is older, wants to be with her pals etc so I f**k off to Glasgow. I get her couple days during the week. Got a good relationship and she comes first, hence why I'm still paying for the ex to live in my f***ing house anyway..... If it goes to plan, all good, if not, need to look at my options. f***ing off is sounding good but can't see me doing it.

LMFAO 94
yes mate ,camping is quite big in France , small town /rural France is beautiful , the way of life and pace of life is special . I know a couple who bought an old house over there. When I say I know a couple, I know the woman to speak to. Anyhow, when I say house, I mean a pile of bricks they go over a month at a time twice a year to do the house up, had it 2 years and its still pretty much a pile of bricks lol. She said its a small village, houses scattered about. Neighbours were funny with them. Until the neighbours realized they were planing to move in and not use it as a holiday home. She said it was like turning on a tap. All of a sudden they were helping them, giving them food etc. seems the right way to live to me.

MIK 4,763
Why do we stay in this country all our lives? It's pretty much like never moving out your parents house when you think about it. Is it a comfort thing? We don't have the weather say living in California have or the beaches lol. Huntings pretty much f****d here so that's almost gone too. If you could stay anywhere, where would it be? There are millions of places with diverse lifestyles, are we missing out being a home bird? I'd like to sample Canada for a year or 2, then move to somewhere the complete opposite like Spain, then after a year somewhere else. That would be great but it'll never happen. Too much of a home bird don't get me wrong, Scotland is fantastic but there are so many great places and adventures out there. There more I travel the world the more I come to realise that Scotland is the place for me I can be up for first light stalking then have a cast for a salmon in the morning then pheasant ,patridge pigeon goose duck etc shooting depending on time of year or ,out hunting ,digging etc ...I can be sitting in grouse butt loading for some gentry then out for a shine at night ,I can see black cock (wilfs favourite ) caper ,king fisher, eagles, ospreys, crossbills, red deer rutting ,otters pine martins wild cats etc I can be right on the coast then right in the highlands all 1/2 an hour from my house so I do feel privileged ....as for the hunting being fuked I would disagree I would say we have some of the most diverse hunting in the world especially for such a small island theres nothing wrong with the country its the people thats running it . Ive only had 5 days at home out of nearly 8 weeks in Brunei a dry muslim country 4 sleeps to go ...All i want is to sit and watch Eastenders with a dram and a bacon roll
charlie caller 3,654
If I moved anywhere abroad, it would be hickstown deep south, Alabama, Arkansas, ect land is very cheap, and you could live for next to nothing if you are a good hunter gatherer, cant see it happening now though, but never say never, I would like to live in Rio for a bit too, but fu*k me think I would be worn out in a month

hutch6 550
I've been accepted under a federal skilled worker application for Canada and Australia. Calgary is the place I'd choose. Big city, got The Stampede and the Rockies are only a couple of hours drive away. It's constantly in the top 5 places to live in the world for quality of life, quality of air and prospects. I'd love to live there for a few years and then buy a bit of land in New Brunswick or Nova Scotia and just work my land for the rest of my life. Just got to get my shit together :D :D
