LMFAO 94
Why do we stay in this country all our lives? It's pretty much like never moving out your parents house when you think about it. Is it a comfort thing? We don't have the weather say living in California have or the beaches lol. Huntings pretty much f****d here so that's almost gone too. If you could stay anywhere, where would it be? There are millions of places with diverse lifestyles, are we missing out being a home bird? I'd like to sample Canada for a year or 2, then move to somewhere the complete opposite like Spain, then after a year somewhere else. That would be great but it'll never happen. Too much of a home bird don't get me wrong, Scotland is fantastic but there are so many great places and adventures out there.

Born Hunter 17,813
This country is big enough for me at the moment, I have no need or want to leave. I'd like to spend some more time in Scotland though. Hopefully get out to Canada hunting over the next few years with a friend but don't think I'd want to live there. New Zealand would be nice too and the older I get the more I'm tempted by France and their rich hunting culture and beautiful country. Right now moving to the south coast is about as adventurous as I'll get, something I keep thinking about. But why leave? I love Britain...

walshie 2,804
My sister in law moved to California 25 years ago. She said the way of life is better there, but the quality of life is better here. I kind of understand what she means.
Bosun11 537
Loads of interesting places I'd like to see still and i'm the same, I'd like to do a stint in Canada too BUT I knew an old lady years ago, she's long dead now. Old money, very posh but not a bit stuck up about it. I'd just came back from my first trip to America, age about 21 and was telling her all about it and talking holidays and fantastic places in general. She asked if it was a day or night flight and I told her it was day, she then asked if the weather was good on take off and I replied it was. Her next question was, "From the air, which looked better, the fields of Cheshire and England, or anywhere I flew over in America?" I had to confess and say England. She then turned and said "And thats because there isn't another country in this world any more beautiful than than these islands, summer or winter." No matter where in the world I've been since I always remember those words and IMO she was dead right....

It's raining the now, pretty cold. Somewhere someone is waking upto sunshine, palm trees, rich ocean..... We only have one life, why spend it on the same rock? We are in a rock pool and just a small distance is the sea, but we are happy in our rock pool..... But.....

This is gonna sound all deep and shit but sometimes we put a lot of effort into searching for something that is right in front of us. I'm not a travelled person, I'd like to but I put higher value on other things right now and sadly money and time are finite resources. I'm still exploring this island, why navigate the world for the same feeling I can get by only travelling a few hundred miles? I will see a few bits through my life and take what opportunities come to me but for the time being my little corner of the world is the most beautiful... But you don't embrace the way of life on a holiday like you would if you moved. I think it would be different.
