Adrian Prisk 6
Today my ticket came back with the 22 and 17hmr added, happy days. But the ammo I asked for 400- 22 and 200- 17hmr is not on the ticket. Theres no ammo listed. Also the 22 is listed with 22rf mod but the 17 hmr is listed with a hm2 mod ???.I will call them tomorrow just wandering if I will have to pay again for another variation.Got to start saving now . Ive always used air rifles and always ended up modifying them to improve them.Is it the same with rimfires or is there a gun that is reliable and efficient hunting rifle straight out of the box? Which I wont have to improve later. Iam looking at the cz silhouette at moment. Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
You won't have to pay for them to put the correct stuff on your ticket. How are you supposed to shoot it if you can't buy ammo? Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Yep, their error, their problem Quote Link to post

shropshire dan 467
Any cz will be great out of the box. The only mod needed is possibly a trigger kit imo. They are awesome guns 1 Quote Link to post
Alsone 789
Just wondering, what is the usual restriction on moderators in terms of wording as ".xx RF moderator" seems restrictive. I know a lot of people use CF Moderators on RF. So I'm presuming that some people at least get plain "moderator" or ".xx Moderator" on their certificates as opposed to "RF moderator". Be interested to hear people's experiences / views. Edited April 29, 2014 by Alsone Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Just wondering, what is the usual restriction on moderators in terms of wording as ".xx RF moderator" seems restrictive. Be interested to hear people's experiences / views. I would take issue with the word LOT! Some do I'm sure, but the fact is, commonly a CF mod on a rimfire is counter productive on several counts. They are usually bigger and heavier, more expensive and less effective as they are designed for higher pressures. As regards definition on your FAC for a moderator, this would normally simply be a slot allowing a moderator to be affixed to the calibre requested, the choice of mod would most commonly be left to the FAC holder! They tend to list, for example Calibre.223/5.56 Type Sound Moderator Quantity 1, what you want to screw on the end is down to you! There is nothing in that description that stops you using the same mod from your .223 on your .22LR (if you have the slot) Quote Link to post
Adrian Prisk 6
Well I called them they apologized and I returned it back first post. They can't understand why it was labeled hm2 or why the ammo wasent logged. Quote Link to post
maktayla 50
However Adrian, Must be so frustrating and annoying for you. How long did you have to wait for your ticket? Did they give you an idea on how long it will take to come back? I definately agree with ShropsHire Dan. You will not go wrong with a CZ. My pic shows me with a CZ452 .17hmr. Its incredibly accurate, reliable and in my opinion far more basic to any air rifle. Especially if you were talikng about PCP's. The bolt is simple to strip and clean if you need to. Thats about. As Dan said, a simple trigger MOD and youre done. I took that fox at approx 80yds, in the head and he dropped instantly. The entry wound was exactly where I put the crosshairs. I love my CZ Edited May 3, 2014 by maktayla Quote Link to post
Adrian Prisk 6
Ya I think i set my mind on cz 452 american 16 inch barrel for the 22 . Maybe the same for the 17hmr just thinking maybe a longer barrel 20inch not sure if it makes to much difference in accuracy and noise. The longer barrels seem cheaper Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
I quite like the CZ, for field use NOBODY needs anything more, some just want something else, but nothing else stops more! Top Down WMR, HMR and 3 x .22lr The 16" .22lr has gone now. Edited May 3, 2014 by Deker Quote Link to post
maktayla 50
Lovely set up Deker Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Lovely set up Deker Cheers, and I do appreciate the comment but they are simply tools to me, just the same I got lucky with the wood on the American, then had a bigger recoil pad fitted, for some reason the stock is shorter on the American than the Silhouette! You can't see the wood at all well in the main pic in #11 above, this is it! Edited May 3, 2014 by Deker Quote Link to post
maktayla 50
I can see it pretty good Deker. I do like it. Grain is nice. Gotta get my .22lr soon. My slot has been empty for some time now. Seeing your rifle in the pic has just made me make a choice ive been pondering over for a while. Need to sell my Canon SLR and get one very soon. I love the .22lr, so versatile. Apologies, am I correct in assuming the pic is your WMR? Quote Link to post
