trenchfoot 4,243
spotted this on guntrader news Guntrader News 5:40pm, 29th May 2014 This summer we are going to find out the Government's view of the RSPCA when it comes to the charity's role as a public prosecutor. Attorney General Dominic Grieve has appointed the former chief inspector of the Crown Prosecution Service to receive submissions from a wide range of bodies and individuals, ahead of publishing a report which will decide the matter. Grieve realised something had to be done as a result of the disquiet expressed by both the public and leading judges following a number of botched prosecutions had called into question the charity’s motives in launching them in the first place. Those who might be looking forward to seeing the job taken away from the RSPCA are likely to be disappointed however. The Government will not be keen to take on the role and will almost certainly opt to leave things mostly how they are, but what we may well see is new regulation requiring the RSPCA to open itself up for inspection and become more accountable. Let’s hope so. For far too long the class-based loathing and hatred for fieldsports common to many of those who sit on its ruling council has been able to hide behind a bogus concern for animal welfare.

R.A.W 1,987
............................Only the C.P.S take more people to court. What a waste of money surely if animal welfare was at the for front of the " Charities" agenda then there are better ways ensuring welfare standards are better. Start with education FFS .......................I really can't believe people still donate.
