From what you said the other week Jim I didn't think you would entertain an older dog. You seemed set on a pup.

But as you say, waiting for the right bitch to come into season, then praying she takes, finding out she doesn't. Could be a long and disappointing process. Not to mention wasting a winter or two.

Good luck with whatever you decide

Its easy Pritch,if a dog jumps out at you and says something, then grab it and reap the reward,by the time you log on to a computer and ask a wider and often less knowledgeable set of nuggets, then the dog will be in a more gracious kennel. If you need to ask then its a no for me,because the right dog will never need the question,if that's to cryptic you must have received the same education as South Hams?.

Jim . . . having a less than perfect dog is just what you need matey. . . All the great expectations of your own well reared/bred /entered/trained pup is too much to live up to. . . you would just end up repeating yourself and going out and testing everything to the Max as per usual.

you can enjoy that dog on and turn it into a decent little pot filler... no pressure to be a world beater on you or the dog.

it might end up being your most enjoyable winter yet my friend.

are you for real, having less than the perfect dog. so jim has had the perfect dog has he.get your tongue

back in your gob. perfect dog

To Jim, Ern and Snipe were as near to perfect as you get. Maybe not for everyone but for him. They did all he asked and more.

I think that's what he meant.

well thats a different thing if he did all that jim asked then a dog can do no more

but that is a big difference than being a perfect dog all dogs have their foibles does

that make em a bad dog no but it does make them less than perfect,

beauty is in the eye of the beholder etc etc..Perfect to one my be not for another. . . I was basically trying to say he doesn't have to compare or fill any boots from previous dogs/lines etc etc.

I don't understand your animosity towards another mans encouraging words for a fellow hunters prospects.

plain nasty in my book. . .and its not big and its not clever. :hmm:
