LMFAO 94
Hares. Fascinating little beauties ain't they? If anyone has seen my books then they'll realise I spend ALOT of time watching them and, I am very lucky to have witnessed some amazing behaviour, stuff that I have never, ever read about and I've been lucky to have got photographs of said behaviour too. But that's for another project. Anyways, I have never heard of a hare using the same seat two days running, I had always presumed that they make a fresh seat every day. Anyways.......Yesterday and I'm doing a bit of rooting about, manages to stumble into a hare in her seat, real close, about 7 yards away I was. rattled a couple of shots off of her and doffed me hat. As it happens those shots were a bit over-exposed....what with me being thick an all..... But I managed to 'salvage' a couple. Not to worry. Then today I had another root about, took a few pics of stock doves, lapwings sat on the nest, you know, usual stuff and I decided to go and see what the hares had been up to. Well, low and behold if she isn't in the same seat as yesterday??? I thought I must be mistaken, but when I've compared pics theres a few similaritys, and it's definitely the same seat. I've circled two on the copped in versions here..... So, I'm still learning...... Got real close to another two hares as well, was averaging about 8 yards, but the best composed one i wanted ran away before I could get the shot I was after. Such is life....JD (Here's a couple of pics...... don't think the exif data will work, if it does it might just say the same date, but ignore that. ) I've learned something new today..... Well I haven't but its proved what I always knew..... You know f**k all about hares you've coursed hares all your life, written books about them and you've only realized what the rest of us have known since we were in short trousers!!!! f**k me, what a f***ing joke. I hope everyone who buys your books realizes that you only know what you've seen on the Internet. What's these other amazing things you've witnessed them doing???? Can't wait to f***ing hear them the sad thing is, your doing a hare project which is pretty much a book about hares and you know sweet f**k all what a joke your are JD btw, yes, it is me Quote Link to post

Hareydave 1,214
is there any truth in that a hare jumps into it seat from a distance 1 Quote Link to post
Alimac2 321
I'd say the buck may be leave his seat first, the reason possibly being he just hasn't the bottle of the doe to sit it out, id imagine her bottle to sit so tight would come from a maternal type instinct, not sure if meternal is the right word, but I know what i mean, lol 1 Quote Link to post
BIG G wheton machine 1,594
Hairs do use the same seat lots of times for the hairs on my arse always in the same seat when I'm watching the tv 2 Quote Link to post
RossM 8,118
Could it be that like other females they are just plain lazy b*****ds who prefer to sit on their arses all day? Quote Link to post
paulus 26
i once spent a couple of hours on a hill top watching a beagle pack hunting hares, from that a high vantage point the whole hunt could be seen in a totally different light from following the pack on foot as i normally did, each hare ran a circuit using the same runs and lines crossing other runs, these intersection points sometimes split the pack and new hare was often found, this hare again would run a circuit of its own choosing, the beagles caught several hares that day. a couple were taken out of their seats in the plough and another after it clipped the bottom of a hedge and rolled injuring itself in the process.
