South hams hunter 8,921
I'm intrigued, was thinking about it the other day. When ever I have or friends have entered a dog to things like fox or deer preban we have always used a pilot dog to help them. How would you enter a stock Brocken dog to deer if you haven't a pilot dog? Quote Link to post

roybo 2,873
Shh...as regards to deer I would have just slipped lol,Fox just made sure the dog is mature enough mentally, then taking it slow ,letting it keep winning,as soon as the dog looked as though it wasn't having fun leave it,but most would've been straining at the lead and you would've have to hold them back, Edited to add instinct will take over 9/10 times your job is knowing when not to slip Edited April 27, 2014 by roybo 1 1 Quote Link to post
