Youve got to laugh, Moxy. I see on the site, that some "master" molecatchers, from the "Guild",are recommending it !!! Says it all really...........The trap looks ' amateurish' to me.Again,Professionals, encouraging the householder (potential customers) ,to do it themselves................

Buy a case of those things, lads! Stick them up in the roof space and put ye grand kids names on the label.

They'll be a passing flash in the pan, now. A joke. And, the first rule of Trap Club? Grab and preserve Shit!

Thirty years down the line? Their very existence will have become a rumour. And examples of them will be gold dust to a new generation of Collectors! ;)

These traps were assessed by the APMC around a year ago by a dozen or so molecatchers. They failed to meet the criteria for them to be approved. One problem being that the moles were caught too low down the body and there was no option for adjustment. Perhaps the APMC care more for the welfare of the moles than the Guilds Master Molecatchers? :hmm:

No one has yet picked up on the price....!!!

£17.50 each or discounted to £15 for multiple orders. Not that price should be a factor if the product works and lasts.

Without getting drawn into an organisation endorsement debate. Because we all know that money talks. My doubts are;

no means to adjust and "tweek" the trap to ensure a more humane catch.

Plastic box. How long will the trap last with water ingress and trapping moisture. Especially when subjected to a ground frost.

Soil and debris entering the closed mechanism. How long before it jams or the operation of the trap becomes unworkable.

And the cost.

I could pick faults all day. They won't be going in my bag and I can't ever see them becoming a pro tool.

As Pete says. Buy a couple and stick them away. Perhaps one day they may become a curio collectors item.

Ahh, but do you save the first or second types ... ??

I agree that these flash-in-the-pan traps are exciting to collectors, but I equally agree that as a working trap it leaves a lot to be desired ...

I was hoping you could tell me

I'm saving my pocket money to invest in some. And after all it will be good folk like yourself who will buy them in years to come.

OTC; What was that f**king great 'Fox Trap' called? The one like a pyramid made of steel bars? " Lonsdale ", or some bloody thing. Imagine having a few of those in the garage! :icon_eek:

Get a pic' up. Give the lads a f**king good laugh!

Pete - The fox trap was called the Queensbury - a right monster, I think they made about a dozen and sold two

Moxy - the first type of Beagle mole trap is no longer available - it had a very slightly different label - semantics I know

 Lonsdale. Queensbury ..... I knew it was something like that! Funny how the mind works! FFS!

I see moody Mark's got one. (He's become a right miserable f**ker lately!)

If only we'd known the score when we were younger. We could have dreamed up a few really crap traps. Got them cobbled together by the nearest Blacksmith and bandied their existence around.

Then, sat on them for forty years or so before slyly letting it be known that one was available! Nice little pension fund! :boogy:
