Meat first but mixer and cooked veg. Dont buy pet mince,it always has offal that will give the pup the trots. Get mince for humans or chicken. Tripe is very low protein and needs cooking. sandymere 8,263
Neither humans or dogs need carbs but there’s a big difference between don’t need and can’t use, how many athletes don't include carbs in their diet? Dogs like ourselves have evolved to utilise carbs, they have specialist systems solely for that purpose; so if they are designed to use carbs which can help recovery and performance I'm all for them, after all we're all for doing the best we can for them.

Who mentioned complete, carbs of course come in completes but also rice, oats potatoes etc or in foods like pasta, dog biscuits, brown bread etc etc, take your pick if you don't want to use a complete . Edit to add, and Bananas if course Edited April 24, 2014 by sandymere

The lad is talking about BARF though. Which is bones and raw food. You feed a natural diet the same as me which is BARF with the addition of carbs and veggies. Don't you? I personally don't think just BARF is the best diet for a dog being grafted.

Why do you say tripe needs cooking? I feed it regularly and have never cooked it.
