gnasher16 30,280
Im right handed and have been holding the catty in my right hand with the theory of more strength in the right would make for a steadier grip.....ive been drawing back to my left cheek and closing my left eye ...............it doesnt seem to make much difference to be fair but just seems most natural............like Socks said i,ll try changing hands next time.............bet i can hit a tree before you

You need to swap hands and aim with your right cheek and right eye then everything will be aligned and straight

South hams hunter 8,926
Can somebody put up a step by step video guide of how to correctly line up and shoot a catty as I am like gnash and hit a fukcing barn door at two foot ........ Yeah but i bet yours dont come out the pouch and go backwards.......or sideways !................Im pretty chuffed when they go in a forwards direction never mind hitting the target !!!! that made me chuckle .... Know the feeling you and socks are getting. I've broke me thumb tryna hit a pheasant about 3 foot above me

Gaz_1989 9,539
Also if i might add yer should find your dominant eye ,an hold the catty in the opposite hand like if yer left eye dominant hold the catty in yer right etc ,just a suggestion though. If you're right handed and your left eye is dominant, like myself, then you will find it much harder to shoot a bow, or catapult, instinctively. How many people know how to test what eye is dominant?I don't I presumed my right eye was dominant as that's the one I aim with ??? ...... I am right handed but left eye dominant. If I aimed with my right eye I wouldn't hit a thing. Point finger on an object a few meters away. Pop bottle or corner of a cabinet, anything really. Close one eye. If your finger stays where you pointed then the eye that is open is your dominant eye. If your finger jumps left or right then you have just closed your dominant eye.

socks 32,253
Right I have listened to what you lads have had to say and watched a few videos and tried changing hands but it made no difference ... Infact it felt to awkward ... However by just changing the angle of my body and miming straight down my arm and through the catapult I am on the way to sussing it ... I have just been having a go at a fence post from 5 meters and hit it every time with 12oz round lead balls ...........
