Gaz_1989 9,539
If it's their tradition then wether they get eaten, sold or left outside to rot then we should not interfere. If we all minded our own business then the world would be a better place.

Brigzy 1,298
I see that fukcwit Chris packham is standing on a mountain in Malta to try and stop the annual song bird shoot ..... Now where do you stand on this ??? Do you think he should mind his own fukcing business it's not his country its a tradition that has been going on for hundreds of years ... Or is he right to stop the killing of songbirds that have no monetary gain to this and they are not even for the pot ............ They do eat them; they are pickled in jars and available in stores all around the Med.
South hams hunter 8,921
I know feck all about it but is it any worse than fox hunting for sport? If they get a crack out of it and aren't threatening any populations or natural balances then I can't see how I can oppose it. beat me to it. There's no purpose behind a lot of what this forums stands for other than we enjoy it
Blackbriar 8,569
As long as it's down to 'tradition'............. I'm just off to the local witch burning, while the squire of the manor comes round to shag the missus !
leegreen 2,170
Black birds taste the similar as white birds, but their pubes are a bit curlier.
NEWKID 27,152
Heard this earlier mate, Chris packham is a cock.... But... The birds being killed are migrating birds who are migrating to breed, some are getting very rare visitors to countries like Britain.. I don't think it is our job to get involved, but these are not killed for the pot, and tradition is one thing but continued killing of certain species of migratory birds are putting there numbers under strain, is that right? We all enjoy hunting, this just seems a bit of a needless slaughter to me personally, the birds are looking for a place to rest on route and met by thousands of guns... Ideation 8,216
Come on guys . . . . Now I fully understand the mantra . . . if we kept our noses out of everyones business then the world would be a better place. But that just doesn't wash. Unfortunatly we have a habit of picking the wrong things to interfere with, but some stuff is just shit. I don't have an issue with most odd traditions, but the simple fact is, some folk need to wise up to the fact that we now know more about the world we live in, and how things affect each other. So when the maltese blat any birds coming over in their droves, among them are lots of pretty ecologically important migratory birds, a lot of which are on route here. So yer, traditions are all very well. . . . but what would you do if you saw some local kids shooting the song birds when they landed here? Some stuff is just shit whatever way you dress it up, and people need a wee bit of education.

Turtle doves are high on the hit list, I think they said they are down by 95% from the 70's as visitors to this côuntry.. So education is key, And your right, most on here would go mad if they saw someone shooting songbirds in this country... f**k me you've only got to catch a rabbit in may and your scum of the earth lol
Ideation 8,216
Aye, some traditions are grand, and some are highly questionable, and that goes for most countries.

Ideation 8,216
they eat dog in korea ,shall we all go over there and protest against it? No, because the Koreans eating dogs does nothing whatsoever to the rest of the worlds bio systems. It doesn't make any difference to anyone, so its up to them if they want to eat them
