Game Farm Job In Powys With Accomodation

Recommended Posts

Not being funny right but keepering is hard to get into I know that I've been there but what's way all the macho talk seriously you were bitting in a shed you nearly passed out were took outside hosed down and put back in the shed? I've also been sat in a shed bitting sweat running of us but we got tore in about it went out got a drink got ourself together tackled it again then done the same who were you working for was there somebody giving you lashes if you didn't do enough in a minute? I've worked under a few hard working head keepers and I'd like to think I'm a grafter and can get my head down and get on way work but anybody who worked me to the point of passing out in a shed mate then hiding me down and putting me back in would be told in the most unpolite way I could think of to go f**k his self. I've never known or worked under a head keeper who would work a young lad to that point or anybody who would work a student to the point they were sleeping on their feet but I don't keep the company of arseholes and if I seen it happen I'd be telling them how I felt I agree work hard and you'll get there but there's a difference way getting the head down and getting on way the graft and getting the piss took out you.

4 months work experience to stick on your cv ------could lead to better things

All this shit about minimum wage and having to pay rent ?? I was working at 17 on minimum wage and running a house 250 a month and then 80 something a month council tax then your leccy / gas / food / TV licence / water / sky / phone all on around 800 a month !!

I think next time someone starts moaning at the fact that polish / Bulgarians / Asians / muzzies or whoever else is taking all the jobs they should ask theirselfs "would I do It for minimum wage?" And If the answer is no don't moan at the fact that someone else will !!

Don't think its that mate its the fact that keepers are paid salaries not per hour and for shite money and part of their package is accommodation they need to live on site basically, and every keeper in the country is living on a knife edge if they loose their job they loose their house, a keeper might work 80 hours a week and get £300 or 40 hours or 50,60 etc all for the same money work that out per hour its not a lot so to then ask for them to pay rent is a joke that's the point lads are trying to make you might have been paying out X amount but if your boss said come in next week for 80 hours instead of 40 but I'm still only paying you for 40 hours is bet you'd give him and answer way a sentence including f**k and off.

From a home security point of view scot I'd rather be on a full time job wage way a house that wasn't tied to the job than a keepering wage some weeks doing double the hours of a normal full time job for half the money way a house that's tied and if you don't produce you and your family are looking for a home I've done both mate and the normal full time job way an untied house was a less stressful and better off lifestyle

A number of members of the House of Lords with help in the commons lobbied to put gamekeepers in the same category as butlers, valets and other house staff. This was done to make them except from being covered by certain aspects of health and safety and employment law. Means they can pay you on a salary and offer you a contract where you agree to work the hours required to do the job. It's an archaic job where you get treated like crap for working your arse off from someone who would drop you at a moments notice because there's always some daft b*****d willing to take your place. In some peoples eyes I worked on some 'prestigious' estates. My attitude didn't suit the job, I chased one head keeper to his vehicle where he hid and had to be removed from my last head keepers throat (I'd already handed my notice in 2 months earlier, but he insisted on still being a dick). Physically my work now is as hard if not harder, the difference is I get appreciated for my work and rewarded financially for what I do.

i know this gentleman, he is one of the best keepers you will ever come across, hes not the most popular person locally, as some reckon hes a right cnut, but people wjo are very good at what they do are often perceived as that, as they seem to come accross that way.

If its experience you want , and want to learn how to do the job properly, and want to use it as a base foundation for a carreer in gamekeeping, you couldnt wish for a better place to learn the trade, if you are a wannabee keeper, with romantic ideas about the job, save your petrol money and stay at home.

You will earn every penny you get paid with Brian.... but he will be right there alongside you working as well, he dont suffer fools gladly. I live not far from him and a mate of mines son already works for him.

You wanna work hard and learn, he's your man, you want a doss..................................... dont even f****n think about it. Fair appraisal of the man and how he rolls.

Best Wishes

I was right, it is who I thought it was. Everything you say is spot on about this guy. If you are mad enough to want a career in game keeping, one of the best in my opinion to learn it from.

Not sure I follow? Undertaker doesn't sound a bad job mind. I'd be strictly cremations only, smaller hole to dig for those little pots of ash.

its about the only job any one get thanked for lol[/

The more I think about it the more I like it. I've got a shovel and a pickup. Just need a black suit. If anyone on here needs there nearest and dearest planted pm me. Price on negotiation.

I could bore you allwith tales of hard ship gamefarming and keepering are about as far apart as you will ever get these days. To be on a rearing field 7 days aweek right through the season is a twat of a job for little reward from start to finish , were not taliking about caching up and laying pens then sitting in a shed with a light bulb and cardbord cut out to check the embrio then incubater then hatch and small sheds the way it used to be were talking mass production to sell thousands upon thousands chicken farm tactics dust shite more dust feed bags full of shit water hoses gas bottles boring mudane work you either knuckle down and do it and use it as knowledge or dont Its labour they want not a trainnee keeper.
