Now I've Checked About The RNLI And The Piece Above Taken Off Google + The Other Sites Ive Visited Keeps Repeating What I Was Taught In School Which Is The Original RNLI Was Started In The IOM By Sir William Hillary ???

Your both right........sort of. :D

 

China infact had the first lifeboat stations along the Yangste but the first station in Britain was in Formby though William Hilary did start the RNLI, lifeboats where used since man took to sea, though they never had a institution until Hilary set it up. :thumbs:

Britishness to me can be summed up like this.........it's having a nice cup of tea while the hounds of hell are at the door, the world is crumbling around you and the shit just generally hitting the fan, and once you have finished your tea just cracking on without making a fuss like its all an everyday occurrence.

 

That's being British to me.

there was a yank soldier that said something similar about how the Englishmen would no matter what was happening finish there fags, rub the butt into the floor with there shoe and say well here we GI again lads like it was just another day at the office.

 

And these were the everyday lads that had signed up just for the ww
