Gaz_1989 9,539
I first became aware of them at a show I attended,i looked, perused and walked,i realised my mutts at 26" and 28" did not do them justice.Ive seen them on dogs, not for me.The lurcher collars..??He's on about the 2" 5 ply I'm sure.I got a 2 inch collar from strong stuff.Well made collar can't complain about craftsmanship and gear on collar and not moaning bout price. But I agree with Morton put it on a 25 tts bull x Lurcher and looked like it was for something out of Appleby. Gave the collar down to my father for his bull. Give it's due it looks good on that. But Fook me would need dog bout 30tts and a tank for look right on running dog Then get yourself a bigger bull cross... gallery_8037_226_5641.jpg Bang on that. This gear is like marmite. People will either love it or hate it... I love it... But... I can see why people hate it and each to their own. Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
Few years later... Same dog, different collar.. Quote Link to post
Themoocher 231
Few years later... Same dog, different collar.. 129 (640x480).jpg That's more like it. As I said mate I'm not moaning about the collar price or craftsmanship. I'm just saying I bought two inch and it wouldn't like out place on a horse. I think i saw a pic of Lurcher with one on strong stuff site and looked good. Bought one and just was to big for a lurcher 1 Quote Link to post

Richnew 38
I had one this season no offence to the bloke who makes them cause he's a decent kid had a good laugh with him over phone and price is good but mine didn't last a season on my lurcher got pulled all over with her working cover I was sick of burning it then buckle came off towards end of season, I love the luck of them I'd have another but wouldn't let dog work in it Quote Link to post

I can't believe a buckle would pull out??? They come with a lifetime guarantee so if they break through work then they get replaced for free. 2 Quote Link to post

blackmaggie 3,377
having never had ss stuff from I have read the lad is straight says it how he sees it and his gear is made from the best and made to last and I would rather pay that extra for the quality that ss provides than shite that doesn't last Quote Link to post

I think so too. Collars would hold a horse. Couldn't see anything breaking buckle on one them collars. Well the one I bought was solid. Quote Link to post
Richnew 38
It had just freyed to much I've got no reason to lie about it I've said I'd get another any day I just wouldn't let my bitch work in it.. I ended up chopping it up an making one myself out of some webbing I had and just used brass stuff from ss collar.. Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
That half cross I put up a few posts back, when he got that collar he'd already lost an eye. He's since lost a lot of his teeth, suffered spinal damage, facial injurys, will still split the tightest bramble and any cover, now with wrist problems he goes 'over' full tilt almost daily, he really is a fecking state and he won't see next winter.... But I'm really pleased to say, the collar is doing great and will see right any number of numb f**k ups like this dog....!! Quote Link to post
dodger 2,817
Iv got a tapered one I sometimes use it for road walkin as she sometimes pulls n I like it for that but I don't like to use it for workin much as it's to bulky n clumsy IMO but as I said a good strong general collar for out n about.. clipo 871
he does make good collars of that's there no doubt but theres just as good out there imo just have different uses......my old bitch has had this one on off black dog trading for ten years now!!! BUT she never pulls on the lead, works cover or chews anything........this little twat pulls like f**k, works any cover possible and has destroyed three collars she got off in the past lol but the strongstuff collar on her now is as good as new still!!! the clues in the name "strong stuff" a traditional lurcher doing traditional lurcher work will get by with any old collar but if your using strong dogs then use a strong collar........simples..........
