Darkie69 76
In Scotland Joe public has 'the right to roam' unless it is designated private property, I don't think you can be tried for trespass (I may be wrong) but you can be done for carrying a weapon on land without permission. It is better to cover thy arse before you shoot than trying to cover it in a jail cell. Prison biatch I'm not!!!! Quote Link to post
Daz39 962
Even if you phone in and somebody reports seeing you the Police still have to respond. This happened to a guy round here. So is there any point if they are going to respond anyway. Not sure about that mate. I had em call me on 3-4 occasions and say "is it you at "X" address?" and its been as simple as that. Only ONCE have I had them pop over to see me face to face, and that was because THEY made an error on procedure in the control room. I know for a fact if I HAD NOT called in prior, those 2 min calls would have been face to face and with more than one happy copper as I had on my one visit. Quote Link to post

So is there any point if they are going to respond anyway. A guy from where I used to live (we'll call him Dave...because that's his name haha), once got a call from the police saying there was a report of a guy with a gun on the farm where he was shooting. So Dave called the farmer to check if anyone else was shooting on his farm. The farmer said it was only Dave and that he'd said the same thing to the police when they called him. So Dave kept his eyes out for this other shooter. Turns out it was probably just someone reporting Dave in the first place haha. If you build up the relationship, I'm sure there won't be many issues like this occurring. Quote Link to post

Norfolk Police response, rings my mobile, "Is it you that can be seen from the road carrying a gun?" my response "Why yes officer!", Norfolk Police response "Oh good, thought it was, will just ring them back and let them know you are doing nothing illegal. Many thanks!" They do not have to send a unit round, they can respond by phone, pays to carry the mobile with you! 1 Quote Link to post

More than once I have been asked by the Police to keep an eye out on the farm tracks for stolen machinery/4x4 trucks etc. Goes both ways! Quote Link to post

silentshot1 206
If my permissions were near a road then I may, but I really don't like the idea that I 'should'. Quote Link to post
