Ads 39
Was bored the other night so decided to go out with the air rifle to a couple of my mates fields. They have horses so just basically want rid of the rabbits. As I got there, I saw a few run off and in to their holes, anyway I crept up to the wall bordering the next field, popped my head up and there was one sitting there right at the other side of the field, probably about 55 yards away. Half a mil dot over and it just fell short, luckily the rabbit never moved so just raised it slightly and next one slotted it right in the side of its head and it just dropped right where it was. So collected that and decided to go and lie down where I saw the first few. Now this permission borders a quarry and that's where the holes are on a banking full of stone, so I was watching a load of young ones running around the stones waiting for a decent one to appear, eventually it did but it was right at the entrance and I didn't want to shoot it and it fall back down. So I waited a bit longer and another came hopping down the stones only to be met by a jsb exact hammering in to its skull! Needless to say, the first one disappeared. Anyway I made a mental note of where it fell to be picked up later. After a few more minutes a biker came through the quarry and must have scared another over the brow of the hill and in to my direction. This was quite a distance right at the top of the hill so two mil dots over and whack another one just dropped! Made a mental note again and carried on waiting. Eventually the first one appeared again and thinking that all the rest had fell forward and not backwards decided to take the shot. Don't know what happened but it didn't kill it so reloaded quickly and before I could get another shot, it had crawled back in the hole! B@stard! I decided to call it a day and to go and collect them, fortunately the one that got away had only crawled a short space in and died so I never lost it after all!! 2 Quote Link to post
