jackals_arrow 4
Alrite lads just looking for some info or help if anyone has experienced this which am sure a few have ... My young bull cross got a nasty cut on his left back leg a deep one to deep to patch my self so had to go to the vet . Vet patched him up and said the dog had slightly nicked the tendon nothing serious that would need stitched or attention just rest to heal ... Was just wondering if he will lose a few yards of pace or slower on a turn or will he just be the same as before ... It happened to mate of mines dog but the tendon was served in two dog lost a few yards of pace and was later retired any info would be much appreciated cheers lads
bird 9,873
well if its like you say just a nick, with rest and steady exercise when you start back (lead walking) you got plenty of time now just to bring him back nice+easy with the summer. do what your vet said

Richard Warwick 50
a friends Bull X has badly damaged his pad on the front paw, we're waiting to see how this will effect his running/turn i think it all depends on the after care and how much time you give them to heal and rest, how long did the vet recomend not running him? carp king 155
give the dog at least 6 weeks rest then 2 weeks lead walk only ,keep the cut clean if you have a porta mag put it in twice a day for an hr on setting 2 good luck hope he makes a full recovery , which im sure he will with the right resting time and he shouldnt loose pace
philstory 83
Had same with one of mine last year. He is back spot on catching gear no problem. All i would say with the rest make sure when u take him out to exercise don't let him run/ off lead until fully healed. Think mine was closer to eight weeks than six.
