Depends on the land, wet, dry, cover.... Certain people will tell you have "bush" rabbits, ones that will predominantly live in the thick brush, so dont go down holes. My verdict is still out on this. Look for clumps of cover with runs going into them, get in there and take a look. I take it your gonna ferret them when you find them so look for the smaller occupied clumps of cover, rabbits will run rings round a few ferrets in big thick cover and you`ll be lucky to see one without a assortment of kit

Hi bobcullen it's a big piece of land and I meen big but there's plenty of overgrown bushes and some woodlands but I cannot find any holes at all apart from some I ferreted on there last year. Which with on further looking at them they look no onager in use. There's absolutely shit loades of rabbits just finding it hard to fine there burrows. Might put a few snares down see what I have on them. Another question. Was given some new permission form a farmer I know. Went and looked yesterday and there like 35 holes on one bank. Will all these be the same burrow or could they be multiple burrows there. They are defiantly in use as I seen loades of rabbit fur at the entrance of the holes.

Get up there at night with a lamp, see where they run, they will know their way home.

Without seeing the 35 holer its hard to say, you couldnt even say for sure just by looking at it. If its a short bank, the holes are more than likely connected, and if its a long bank they could be seperate burys. If in doubt, section the bank with stop nets and like armdog says, start at one end.

Don't have 35 bloody nets as not been doing it that long aha. I hope there not all one burrow lol. It's on a steep banking covered with trees and bushes etc he said that there's loades in and out all day I can't wait to get my ferrets down them holes and see how many I get. Anyone near me fancy coming along. But your not thieving my permission aha I know what people re like.

get more nets over summer mate, ive ferreted spots with 70 or 80 holes all close enough to make me think that there connected, stop nets running up and down banking might help , what dog ya got , ive had alsorts of ferreting companions, use border terriers at minute but have used mongrels, a spaniel and obviously lurchers, any dog can learn to peg rabbits or even push em into nets, one of cleverest dogs i had was a pit x staff, she did everything i ever asked of her, even odd bunny on lamp, never hurts to have too many nets down , if they miss one net they might back net in another, but most of all enjoy your self

I am doing pal gunna order loaders at least another 50 or so. Some net maker is going to be happy lol. Ithaca staffer don't think she would actually do anything but could try lol. So do you think they could all be the same burrow. I'll defo get more nets and get ready. They look well used.

South Yorkshire. Anyone willing to come along I'll put a pic up of a bit and see what you think lads weather it's in use or not.

You would be surprised at some holes which look unused and hold bunnies iv had them in the past and ones which look a dead cert have nothing in them best to use a dog which marks then you will know for certain.
