rabbit demon 302
Getting older is balls, my knees keep seizing on me. When I go ferreting I can run like hell to the nets when there's rabbits in them, but then go in slow motion if I have to bend down to pick em, then can't get back up again, no diving on them no more cause I miss by a long shot, Shoulders, neck and hands suffering wear and tear from work, memory is going and hangovers are fooking brutal, definitely feeling getting older but I'm still very active :-). oneredtrim 148
I`m a fekin mess some days. I`m 47ish and have almost constant pain in my neck shoulders back and hips. I stretch when I remember, which helps, but I still fold myself on to a racing bike and cycle 60 miles so I`m not doing t Doesen`t work for me though, too upright and I put more weight on my lower back, better for me to get further over and split the weight. Bars are wider than I used to run, which helps my shoulders. TBH, the Trek is the comfiest bike I have ever had. I have a bike fit shortly, and I expect to drop the stem another 5mm. I can sit on the drops for ages now. Upright is not always good. Got a pal who said similar to you Rake, he was convinced a more upright position was causing his lower back pain, changed his lay-back seatpost and stem and now he's on 60 miles of Derbyshire mountians 3 times a week (proclaiming 60 miles of flats aint gonna last too long). He had difficulty differentiating between twinges that were never fixed and simple familiarity, complaing the lower back was driving him mad whilst simply sat at home...a case of cause and sympton confusion. Yeah...i like wide bars (700mm...dont laff), opens the chest, get a few snide comments from the roadies but never in places where the airs getting thin, especially when i'm asking em how much they paid for thier roache-backbone(hounds/grounds)
