fabiomilitello 37
Hey everyone, Here's a common problem - I'm left eye dominant but I'm right handed. However, I've heard that this doesn't matter with shotguns because it's better to shoot with both eyes open, because you see the pigeon or whatever quarry coming a lot faster, and two eyes open sends information to your brain quicker, meaning you can respond quicker. Is this true? I've heard the old saying "you aim a rifle, but you point a shotgun" but does anyone have any experience with shooting with both eyes open, or anyone who has cross eye dominance like me? trigger2 3,145
i shoot with both eyes open but i am right handed and my right eye is dominate (master). my friend is right handed and shot right handed because his right eye was dominate, he then had a bike accident and for some reason his left eye became dominate and he reckons he had to learn to shoot left handed as he couldnt shoot right handed once his eyesight changed. you might be o.k as your left eye has always been your master eye by the sound of it. i learnt to shoot with a left handed outo although i am right handed. didnt know it was a left handed gun until months after, i just got on with it my brain must have just adjusted me accordingly to make a kill. i never even noticed the cartridges ejecting past my left eye lol.
