All my dogs seem to like eating Cleavers. they all have a bit from the hedgerow every morning especially the terriers. I think it supposed to be good for the kidneys and preventing kidney stones. It might have something to do with a high meat diet.

Cleavers/ goosegrass/ sticky willys / soldiers buttons or plain old Galium aparine lol are really growing at the moment and my dogs are doing the same. The benefits when ingested in its whole raw form are reduced due to a dog not being able to break down plant matter in its whole form as effeciently. When used in a medicinal form it's dried and ground down usually. It's a mild diuretic and can help the urinary system, skin and lymph system.

I think it's just that time of year where the dogs just can't resist new growth and make a bee line for certain grasses and clevers especially. I have noticed this happens when feeding both a 100% meat and bone diet and when feeding a diet containing lots of vegetable matter along with meat and including clevers.
