Out With The 17Hmr

Been out tonight with the 17hmr to do a bit of rabbit shooting this is what I shot, the furthest was 128 yards the rest were -90 yards

 

 

 

Got this one on the way back to the moter

Hi Mate, what Ammunition you useing, as the rabbits i am shooting i am blowing half their heads off at them ranges with the Hmr and Hornady 17gr v max. I have been useing the Hornady 15.5gr NTX and get kills like yours. Atb Joe.

I use federal V-max 17 grain

yes shot loads before I had my 223 but they took foxes with the 17hmr of my ticket

They took it off my 22rim and 17hmr and told me I had to use my 223 , but before I had the 223 I had foxes on my ticket for the 22 and 17 . I asked to put it back on they no.

They seem to work in very strange ways, you had fox listed but they decided to remove it, and now even the new Home Office guide recognises HMR as a Fox capable calibre! :hmm:

 

Do you have an Open FAC?

 

Would they prefer you used a .223 in someones back garden or a rimfire?

 

Some regions have some very odd policies!

yes I have an open ticket

 

had 223 put on and they took fox of 17 and 22lr.

 

I did my renewal a couple of months ago asked for it go back

on as a farm i shoot on is surrounded houses they back on

to the fields. still said no

Have you AOLQ on your Cert if you have, i cant see why you wont be able to shoot Fox with Hmr.

I am totally confused, they took fox off your rimfires but you have AOLQ, did that appear when fox went, and is that against your rimfires?

 

That means exactly what it says, and Fox is lawful quarry!
