A great day yesterday at the first meet of this year, One or two changes have been made to the order of events this year and there were a few minor teething problems with it being the first one, but all in all a cracking day and the weather was great. I thought it was great to see so many new pups in the puppy class and it can only be good for the sporting whippet club AND TERRIER AND LURCHER EVENTS in the future. Im not a member of either club but it was good to see the lads and ladies from the Northern Ireland Lurcher Racing club attending with their own whippets for a days crack and supporting the S.W.C.NI. With luck this could be the first steps in stronger bonds between the Sporting whippet Club and the NI.L.R.C and maybe some progress might be achieved this year in getting all the cheats out of dog racing. Everyone does not have to like each other but if getting the cheats out of this sport for good is the genuine aims of both clubs I feel that everyone needs to give and take ,and put personal differences and old quarrels to bed. There has been past and present members of both clubs that we all know have had questionable dogs in the past and more recently but if everyone keeps looking to that past no progress will be made this year again and the cheats of TODAY will just keep slipping under the radar. Maybe wishful thinking on my part I know, but it would be good if both clubs had a pow-wow and sorted some thing out.I would like the day when I can attend any show and have a fair chance and not have to choose the events I attend.. Rant over!!

Mate as you know I had to do or say something sensible this week after shaving off both my eyebrows by mistake at the start of the weekend! :D Had to stay away from Deidre, cause if she had of cottoned on my eyebrows were history goodness knows how much abuse she would have given me and how many close up photos she would have got of them :cray:They should be back for the next S.W.C.NI,, failing that its a trip to Jolleys for two Siberian Hamsters and some double sided tape!! . Forgot to mention our ole mate "Kathy dog groomer Knox" who has found her new calling with her dog Eva and took reserve in the c grade racing. And special mention to my other wee dog who I had high hopes for this weekend,,, the "late" Barney who won nothing this weekend and woke up dead this morning after Bolts trophy cabinate collapsed on him and crushed him :D. I also would like to congratulate the S.W.C.NI in their clever use of Brian with his top off at the start line to make the pups run like fook away from him up the track after the lure pure genius! The opposite effect happens to me when Nicky takes her top off ,I actually run to her like a puppy but that's another story for another time. A great day with great people and the sun was shining .

Mrs Bluebell, did you just think I had a massive forehead .. yeah I shaved those bad boys clean off !!! set the trimmer at number 3 to give them a light trimming as you do. looked up into the mirror,then near had a heart attack because Lily Savage was looking back at me. Didn't realise the fooking plastic depth head wasn't on the trimmer so it was just a bare blade. Think the missus must have been shaving her back with them before id lifted them .it was the same last week,i couldn't find my angle grinder in the shed, little did I know Nicky had been using it to cut her toe nails!!!!
