What To Use For Cleaning My Air Riffle?

Recommended Posts

just after a few pointers for keeping my air riffle clean and looking in good condition. i always used normal furniture polish on my old hw77 since i was a kid as i was told to never use WD40.

although ive only had my air riffle about 3 weeks theres alot of dust about and it appears to be building up in the slot where the magazine goes, the cocking mechinisum is also looking as though it will hold alot of dust if not cleaned regular.

is there a cleaning kit i can get?

almost forgot she's a hw100kt.

What i use on my Air Arms 410 is a "Tuff cloth" which if you believe the hype is "what USA armed forces use. It is a cloth that is epregnated with cleaner, conditioner. You can buy it in a foil bag or a plastic tub, which is the one i chose thinking that the tub would be able to keep the cloth fresh.

Search for "Tuff Cloth".

Any rag will do really , and some 3 in one gun oil or any kind of gun oil I have some from the army what they use just builds on up the cloth as you use it to run where you have touched the bluing and get some cleaning pellets and shot 10 of them down wth it on every once in a while or if it's been stood also when changing pellets

@trigger2 I usually use parker hale on the metalwork but have recently swapped to napier as it isnt quite as greasy but still repels the moisture and coats the metal work nicely....incidentally it smells much better too!!
